The Story of a Life Changed through a House Church

I had just arrived in the capital of a North African city and was anxious to see brother Samir once again.  I had heard from one of our national leaders, Nabil, that Samir had begun hosting a house church in his flat in the shantytown on the outskirts of the capital.  Samir was glad to see me and after drinking tea together and catching up on family and friends, he began to tell me about his experience over the past 4 months of ‘hosting’ the house church.

A Seeking Muslim

One of our female team members (an American, mother of 5 children) has been developing a deep friendship with a Muslim lady over the past few months.  In the course of becoming friends, they have begun to share openly about raising children, marriage and faith.  Over the past month, this Muslim friend has revealed some interesting insights about how she (and probably many other Muslims) perceive local Christians and our faith.  Here is just one insight, I will report more in the weeks to come.

Northern Iraq Ministry Center

After more than a year of working on receiving our 'free' land in northern Iraq, it has become evident that using this land to build a ministry center will cost more than purchasing land and building on it. We have been renting a building for the past year for our pre-school ministries and have felt led to purchase the land where it is located for the new ministry center/church. We will retain the 'free land' for future use of another sort but because we are purchasing land with a current structure, the cost is more than we have raised to date and we need to generate significant donations within the next month. Please make this a matter of prayer.
