WMI Jordan trip

God answered prayer in amazing and wonderful ways, far beyond our hopes and requests this week as we ministered in Amman, Jordan. Our sessions and prayer times with the women were blessed by God; He refreshed, renewed and encouraged them. We saw healings of bodies and emotions and situations.

Several days into the conference, pastors and leaders were saying they could see a difference in the women, they could see God at work in their lives. They want to have another women’s conference AND a couples’ conference AND a men’s conference AND a children’s workers conference; four conferences a year. This was their first conference for the women and all saw what great things God did and how profitable it was for both the women and the church. All were over-flowing with thanksgiving that their ‘family’ in Christ from the States would come to them. Your brothers and sisters in the Lord in Amman send their greetings and heartfelt appreciation for this trip and ministry among them.

At home in Florida, this morning I told my husband, Rex, ‘Ole’ ‘Blue Eyes’ left his heart in San Francisco, but I left part of my heart in Amman.’ Many saints of God are there, reaching into their community with love and assistance to Iraqi refugees and others in need.

Several specific prayer requests from our brothers and sisters in Amman:

1) Community Impact
2) A volunteer doctor for their clinic
3) A bus so they can transport people to/from the ministries
4) For the refugees in Amman as well as for the people in Iraq
5) For jobs for those who are able to work
6) For families to be united (many families are in different countries, many waiting ‘years’ for visas to travel to a host country)

Off to a Good Start

Becky writes on Monday 9-15:
We have had a glorious time so far. Sunday was a very restful day with no duties to perform, just rest, worship and relax. We visited the home of the pastor of one of the Jordan churches in the afternoon. They were very gracious hosts, serving fruit, drinks and desserts. Of course, we’d just eaten KFC a little before, so we were pretty stuffed after that.
One of our members, Fred, preached that evening with our Egyptian friend doing the translating. Our group is jelling together very well. We are enjoying each other’s company very much.

We start our ministry tonight at 6:00 (11:00 a.m. your time) so keep us in your prayers as we begin, not knowing how many to prepare for has been very interesting. I’ll write tomorrow with results from our first night and future prayer requests. Fred, Dr. Rick and Blak Wood went on to Iraq last night and will rejoin us on Friday. Pray for their safety as they work in a new church plant in Northern Irag.

Update Sat 9/13

I spoke with our group on the ground today in Jordan. Here is a brief update for family and friends back home. I believe some will be writing on this blog as well.

All is well with the group. Their spirits were high and they said they had a great day at Petra today. Everyone is ready for a good night’s sleep (it was late evening when I spoke with them).

Some of the men will head on to Iraq soon. Be in prayer for their travels. Their flight will be several hours and then they will travel by car/truck for several more hours once they arrive in N. Iraq.

The group worshiped at the Ashrafia church last night and will be at Marka church for service tomorrow night. Pray that the Spirit will do a great work.

The women’s conference will begin on Monday. They are making final preparations.

In Christ,
Dustin

Jordan Women’s Conference

This week a Women’s Ministry International (WMI) group will be traveling to Amman Jordan to help lead a Women’s Conference entitled “Your Value in Christ.” This will be the first conference of this nature our Jordanian churches have held. Team members are coming from St. Petersburg, Fl; Spring Arbor, MI; and Davidson, MI.
 Please Pray:
- that the Lord will be at work in the hearts of the Jordanian and Iraqi women participating;
- for the team’s safe travels throughout the region.
